Welcome to the Calderdale Governors Association website.
The CGA is an independent voluntary organisation open to governors in all Calderdale schools and colleges, (including academies) and which is run by governors for governors. It is independent of Calderdale Council, and there is no subscription or fee for coming along to open meetings.
The next open meeting will be held at Savile Park at Heath from 630 pm to 9pm on Tuesday 18th September 2018. Agenda items cover:
- Update on LA – school relationships
- Feedback from various panels and Smal Schools Conference
- What issues are likley to top of governors’ agendas during 2018/19
- New LA governor training package
- opportunity to discuss other topics of concern / interest

The 2017 CGA Conference and AGM was held at the Shay on Saturday 10th June with the title”School Improvement through Collaboration: What are the options?”. Speakers included Gillian Allcroft, NGA Deputy Chief Executive, Janet Gabanski, Senior School Improvement Officer, Shameem Hussain, head at Beech Hill Academy and Mick Kay, head at Halifax Academy.
